Clinical Management System

Replaces the paper‑based workflow with a simple, modern, and secure digital solution.

This high school project, completed as part of my ICT school-based assessment, sparked my long-standing interest in databases. I designed a well-structured MySQL database populated with sample data, built a functional VB.NET Windows application to interface with it, and produced a detailed, well‑typeset report.

Why do manual clinic workflows fall short?

Many clinics still rely on manual processes to manage patient information, handling paper forms and reports that are prone to errors. This approach consumes storage space, makes it difficult to maintain links between related documents, and creates inefficiencies in recording, processing, and retrieving data. It also complicates sharing and backups, and the lack of enforced data entry formats can lead to inconsistency.

How does the system improve clinic operations?

The Clinical Management System replaces the paper‑based workflow with a simple, modern, and secure digital solution. It covers day‑to‑day practices for doctors and patients, supporting both walk‑in visits and scheduled appointments. The system saves office space, streamlines data manipulation, strengthens security and standardization, and reduces the learning curve. It also makes data backup and sharing straightforward.

What did this project achieve?

The project earned full marks and laid the groundwork for my approach to clean data models, pragmatic tooling, and thorough documentation.
